Conductor Sizing and Type

Grounding and Bonding
All non-current-carrying metal parts of electrical equipment, enclosures, and luminaires shall be effectively grounded and bonded. NEC 250 Part III, V.
Weatherproof Enclosures and Fittings
Outlet boxes, conduit bodies, conduit, and fittings installed in wet locations shall be listed for the purpose and installed to prevent moisture entry. NEC 314.15, 314.28(E), 406.9.
GFCI Protection
Outdoor branch circuits supplying luminaires connected to 15A or 20A, 120-volt circuits typically require GFCI protection if they also supply a receptacle in an outdoor area, or if the luminaire itself is cord-and-plug connected. Consult NEC 210.8(A) and 210.8(B) for specific applications.
Wiring Methods for Outdoor Locations
