Foundation Drainage System
IRC R405.1 - Perforated pipe or gravel drainage system shall be installed at or below the area to be protected and shall discharge to an approved location.
Drainage System Discharge
IRC R405.2 - The discharge from the foundation drainage system shall be directed to a storm sewer, an approved natural runoff area, or other approved means, at least 10 feet away from any foundation walls and property lines. Discharge must not create a public nuisance.
Dampproofing & Waterproofing
IRC R406.1 (Dampproofing) & R406.2 (Waterproofing) - Foundation walls retaining earth and enclosing usable spaces shall be dampproofed or waterproofed from the top of the footing to the finished grade. Materials and application methods must comply with code requirements based on soil conditions and water table.
Footing Frost Protection
